To become a Bodhisattva monk in one tradition a person has to take 240 vows which include agreements not to touch money, not to use after-shave lotion, not to attend any form of entertainment, not to use any form of makeup, not to use any form of soap that has a pleasing smell, etc. etc. etc. In the West most teachers are not celibate and don't beg for a living. IMO western non-duality teachers have a much healthier and more life-affirming attitude than do many teachers in the East.
