...was a Christian mystic who had several powerful experiences of cosmic consciousness. As a result of his experiences, he had many unorthodox ideas about reality, but he still thought there was a Plotinus having experiences. He analyzed what he thought brought on his CC experiences, and tried to replicate the conditions that he thought were necessary. He died still thinking that his CC experiences were periodic gifts from God, and he was grateful for those "glimpses into God's world."
Whether someone, like Plotinus, has infrequent (one every few years) but powerful CC experiences, or someone has more frequent (one every few days?) neurological states "that I can almost get my hands on," there are still states coming and going for a someone. Until that someone evaporates the Buddha's world will remain unknown.
