It's like when one realizes the power of NOW and realizes how regrets about the past, or fantasies about the future, keep one separated from the living truth and stumbling around like a sleep-walking zombie. Indeed, one loses interest in the past and future, but only because NOW is realized as the place where life is alive, so to speak. With realization we don't wander lackadaisically away from the past and future as much as we run headlong and full of eagerness and delight toward NOW.
