...without engaging mind. When there is no knowing "you" behind the fascination, there is no one to know that s/he is fascinated.
Because I spend a fair amount of time hiking along wooded trails and mountain ridges in silence, and because I spend a fair amount of time looking at the world without thinking about it, this body/mind, too, has periods of fascination and amazement that are recognized as such, but they do not last. If anyone doubts this, s/he should check it out for him/herself.
I'm not trying to throw cold water on anybody's bliss or sense of existential wonder because I appreciate those states of mind for what they are; I'm just trying to put them into perspective. Cheers.
