I usually advise against chakra work. Why? Because I've read too many accounts of people unleashing energy stuff that turned out to be intensely physically painful. One fellow felt like his body was on fire (literally) for years and years; we're talking serious agony. Another mentioned that awakening kundalini can sometimes lead to highly painful and totally unanticipated results.
I have personally experienced chi, and am well aware that there are powerful energy circuits in the body, so I would advise great caution to anyone contemplating chakra work. LSD gives some people good trips, but it can be a nightmare for other people. Taking LSD or doing chakra work is like opening Pandora's Box. There's no way to know in advance what you're going to get.
Most important, however, is the fact that chakra work is not necessary for enlightenment.
