...that sexism, racism, and various forms of closed-mindedness do not automatically disappear with enlightenment. If someone is willing to learn, learning can continue throughout life. A forum like this brings with it a wide spectrum of experience which is one of the things that makes it interesting. This body/mind has never had what I think is a kundalini-type experience, but some people here, including E., have, so I assume that such experiences are possible, and am always interested in hearing about them. This body/mind is not awake 24/7, but there have been one or two people here who have claimed that that is their experience.
Some people are very open-minded about everything and some are not. Some people, though enlightened, are strongly closed-minded about particular issues. When closed-mindedness is encountered, this advice is correct; it is usually better to accept the obvious and move on. When I began interacting with one particular person, it quickly became obvious that he was strongly opposed to koan combat/play, meditation, and some other related issues, so there would have been no point in arguing with him about those things. Many people find them fun and/or helpful/useful, but because he was so antipathetic towards them it would have been a fool's game to fight with him about it. From reading his posts I think he had seen through the illusion of selfhood (gnosis), but he was clearly closed-minded on certain subjects.
I have a friend who is enlightened, but he is sexist in his thinking, and I have told him so on several occasions. He dismisses the issue because he obviously enjoys his sexist mindset. End of discussion. Some people are extremely open-minded and some are not. If there are any doubts about this, simply look and see.
