Important note: All the posts on this blog were written by Bob Harwood (AKA 'zendancer') on the forum spiritualteachers.proboards.com. I have merely reposted a collection of them in blog format for the convenience of seekers. Some very small mods were made on occasion to make posts readable outside of the forum setting they were made in.

Sometimes it helps to see both sides of an issue, and then see through both sides.

Is there oneness or twoness? The body takes a sip of coffee. Is there volition or non-volition? The body takes another sip of coffee. Ha ha. The truth is "just like this,"--oneness in action.

There is nothing in the non-duality traditions that says THIS can't fight for a cause, or work to correct a social wrong, or join a political protest for equality, or manifest peace in the face of war. They simply say that there is no separateness.

Is there separateness or non-separateness? In response to the question, the body takes another sip of coffee. What is it that is sipping the coffee, or thinking about injustice, or acting to right a social wrong? We can point to it with the word "THIS."

When it is realized that there is only THIS, there is groundedness and empowerment. It doesn't matter what anyone else in the world is doing or saying, the path remains clear and unobstructed. The body/mind does what it has to do and says what it has to say. There is no psychological hindrance.

Are you female or male? Just laugh and have another sip of coffee. Jesus is reported to have said, .....if you make the male into the female and the female into the male so that they are one and the same....then you will enter the Kingdom."
