A fantasy arises, and is recognized. Swish! The "sword of Manjusri" cuts it off in mid-mindstream.
Thoughts of shoulds or oughts appear. Swish!
Thoughts of judgment appear. Swish!
Doubts and checking thoughts appear. Swish!
Ideas about the nature of reality appear. Swish!
"What if?" thoughts appear. Swish!
"If only" thoughts appear. Swish!
The patterns become obvious, the habits are broken, and the way becomes clear. There is no going back. Resolute, singular, unified, empty, whole, free, vast, complete, effortless........the discriminating mind's dominance becomes a thing of the past, not worth a single thought of remembrance.
Sengstan (translated by Richard Clarke)
"......When such dualities cease to exist
Oneness itself cannot exist.
To this ultimate finality
no law or description applies.
For the unified mind in accord with the Way
all self-centered striving ceases.
Doubts and irresolutions vanish
and life in true faith is possible.
With a single stroke we are freed from bondage;
nothing clings to us and we hold to nothing.
All is empty, clear, self-illuminating,
with no exertion of the mind's power.
Here, thought, feeling, knowledge, and imagination
are of no value.
In this world of Suchness
there is neither self nor other-than-self........."
