This can be accomplished by simply shifting away from thoughts to what can be seen, again and again, until it is a way of life. Living in the moment and directly interacting with "what is" stops supporting or reinforcing the imaginative throught structure that creates a sense of selfhood, and that structure will eventually collapse. One day you will suddenly see that who you thought you were was nothing more than a thought. You will realize that you are "what is" and you will no longer feel psychologically separate from it.
