Important note: All the posts on this blog were written by Bob Harwood (AKA 'zendancer') on the forum spiritualteachers.proboards.com. I have merely reposted a collection of them in blog format for the convenience of seekers. Some very small mods were made on occasion to make posts readable outside of the forum setting they were made in.

Someone asked Adyashanti what enlightenment was

...and he replied, "No argument with self, no argument with others, no argument with the world, and no argument with God." That answer is probably as good as it gets.

Most of us have an argument with what is HERE. THIS is too boring, too ordinary, too painful, too irritating, or too-something other than what we think it should be. But this is it. THIS is what is. Going to the grocery store, brushing our teeth, having dinner with a friend, watching a football game, or walking in the woods. You mean we don't get to see through walls, talk with the dead, astro-travel, and have other-worldly experiences? Well, anything is possible, but if we seek anything other than THIS, we turn away from the truth. By attending THIS, fantasies evaporate, and we are left HERE--solitary, unitary, vast, intimate, connected, and as concrete as ice dropping into a cup at McDonalds.
